2011 Reproductive Wellness Symposium: Coming of Age
Roundtable Discussion on Teen Pregnancy: Building Supportive Systems or Enabling Poor Choices?
The roundtable discussion on teen pregnancy will be a mediated discussion among experts and professionals working with teen pregnancy answering the following questions (questions may change slightly before the conference):
- In America, there’s a judgment placed on pregnant teens that they’re throwing their life away by not pursuing careers outside the home or attending college. Is this judgment accurate?
- What value do teen pregnancies bring to society?
- Why are teen pregnancy rates are so much higher in the US than in other countries?
- In what setting should sex education be taught?
- In what way would different systems of education or prevention programs impact wanted vs. unwanted teen pregnancy rates?
- Select questions from the audience.
All of the 2011 Reproductive Wellness Symposium events are FREE and open to the public.
