2012 Reproductive Wellness Symposium: Listening to Women

Wisdom Within invites you to participate in the 2012 Reproductive Wellness Symposium: Listening to Women.  This event will span four days and will include Mother's Day gifts for all moms present, community potlucks, birth story gatherings and screenings of the fabulous documentary, "More Business of Being Born...Special Deliveries: Celebrity Mothers Talk Straight on Birth."  

This weekend will also be an introduction to the collection of stories included in "My Little Red Book."  This book has been selected for discussion in Wisdom Within's first book club gathering, which will take place later this summer, on June 9, 2012 at The Book Haven in Salida.  This book can be purchased through The Book Haven in Salida, CO.
 
All events in the 2012 Reproductive Wellness Symposium are FREE and open to the public.

Special Deliveries: Celebrity Mothers Talk Straight on Birth
Featuring celebrity moms Laila Ali, Gisele Bundchen, Cindy Crawford, Alyson Hannigan, Melissa Joan Hart, Kellie Martin, Alanis Morissette, Christy Turlington-Burns and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Special Deliveries is a collection of intimate birth stories from a diverse group of mothers. Whether they chose to deliver at a hospital, home or birthing center, these heartfelt and humorous testimonies speak to the lasting power of the birth experience.  True inspiration for any mother-to-be, this group of women trusted their bodies and intuitions, taking responsibility for their birth decisions even when things didn’t go according to plan. Birth Story Gatherings
Wisdom Within believes the power of each woman's birth story unfolds as she tells and retells it.  With that thought in mind, Wisdom Within invites you to share your birth story or stories in a gathering that has been created for that purpose.  Each gathering of women will be hosted in a setting perfect to share the perceptions, truths and realities of your birth experience.  Your story could help another woman normalize her own experience as well as help you connect with the beauty of your story.  Any and all types of birth stories are welcome, and your willingness to share is appreciated!


Book Club Discussion
"My Little Red Book" is quite possibly the most fabulous collection of first period stories that you will ever encounter.  Wisdom Within is excited to support awareness of our reproductive lives through a book club discussion of "My Little Red Book."  Select stories from the book will be shared during the symposium weekend to encourage participation in Wisdom Within's Book Club Discussion that will take place June 9, 2012.  If you'd like to read more information about the book, or about the valuable nonprofits that "My Little Red Book" supports, please visit the website at http://www.mylittleredbook.net/.  You can purchase the book through your local independent bookstore, in downtown Salida at The Book Haven.
